Ford Didn't Even Bother To Check if the Coyote V-8 Would Fit in the 2021 Bronco

Ford Didn’t Even Bother To Check if the Coyote V-8 Would Fit in the 2021 Bronco

Imagine the horror if it can’t happen and all aftermarket swap ideas have to be scrapped too!

When the Bronco was unveiled, a lot of us were disappointed by the absence of a V-8 mill. But, we still had hopes that it could become a reality someday. However, Ford made it clear that a V-8 will not be offered here. Although we had our deliberations, this confirmation from Ford served as the final nail in the coffin.

It has now come to light that Ford was sure about not offering one right from the start. In fact, it even built the Bronco without bothering to check if a V-8 engine could be plonked in or not! Speaking with Ford Authority, Bronco’s Chief Engineer, Eric Loefller said that they hadn’t even given it a shot during its development days.

It’s Harder Than You Realize To Get Cool, Real-Life Cars Into Racing Games

You’d have to shake A LOT of hands if you were to thank each person that’s behind your favorite car in your favorite game

Nowadays, thanks to the awesome possibilities that are within reach for most next-gen racing titles, our list of demands is continuously expanding and, almost always, a large selection of cars is at the top of the list with the prerequisite that the cars have to look good and sound amazing. But the job of getting a car, any car, into a modern video game isn’t easy because, well, stuff like 3D-scanning and an ultra-realistic physics engine are both complicated to do and expensive.

You Might Want to Think Twice About Putting Big Wheels On Your EV

More specifically, range is going to take a hit

Since electric powertrains have started crawling inside our cars, manufacturers had to find ways to make said powertrains as efficient as possible. Aside from battery chemistry, size, and other such factors, an EV’s ability to travel more miles on a full charge is also an affair of aerodynamics and rolling resistance.

In the video below, Jason Fenske of Engineering Explained shows why big wheels impact an electric car’s driving range.

We’re Pretty Sure This Dumb Dodge Charger Driver is a Former Ford Mustang Driver

Point of emphasis: don’t do burnouts if you don’t know how to pull them off

Stupid drivers know no bounds, and they certainly don’t favor one muscle car over another. Take this nincompoop, for example. Driving a camouflaged Dodge Charger SRT 392 at a car gathering in Houston, the driver decides to demonstrate his burnout skills in front of a gathered crowd.

That kind of stunt normally ends in one of two ways. He either pulls off the burnout to the delight of the adoring crowd or something goes horribly wrong and he’s left with more than pee down his trousers. Unfortunately, it’s the latter. Just as he attempts his burnout, the driver loses control of the Charger SRT 392 and crashes into a gathered crowd, taking a few bystanders along the way. Fortunately, no one got seriously hurt, and to the delight of Ford, it wasn’t a Mustang that ended up being on the short end of this YouTube lowlight.

That’s what happens when trainees are allowed to run wild in a design studio

There’s something innate at Volkswagen Group about allowing trainees to develop their own ideas in terms of what a car should look like.

Just look at what Volkswagen has been doing in the past years at W?rthersee, where a wacky Golf is unveiled with clockwork precision every year, and it’s entirely imagined and designed by the brand’s apprentices. And Audi just copied the recipe.

Porsche Should Build a High-Performance Van Already

Porsche Should Build a High-Performance Van Already

The Vision Renndienst is proof that Porsche can build a cool looking, fast van

Porsche recently unveiled several concept cars that it has kept out of sight over the last 15 years. Among them, there’s the Vision Renndienst, an all-electric van that pays tribute to the old vans that Porsche used as support vehicles for its racing program back in the 1950s and 1960s. They were mainly first-generation Volkswagen Microbus vans, usually painted red and labeled "renndienst," which is German for "racing service." The van concept looks surprisingly hot, and given that Porsche already built something similar in the past, maybe it’s time Stuttgart rolls out a production van. Of the high-performance variety, of course.

Porsche Almost Revived the Iconic 904 with a V-2 Diesel Engine

The Porsche 904 Living Legend concept is a cool 904 tribute with a VW hybrid drivetrain

Porsche recently unveiled several design studies and concept cars it has created over the past 15 years, and some of them, including the 904 Living Legend, are downright impressive. Created in 2013, the 904 Living Legend is a tribute to the iconic 904 sports car of the 1960s. Design-wise, the 904 Living Legend is a combination between the modern Cayman and the classic 904, but the drivetrain underneath that sleek body is surprising, to say the least.

2020 Nissan Frontier - Driven

The 2020 Frontier looks the same, but comes with a new engine and transmission, and a steep price hike

Nissan Frontier is considered to be one of the best workhorses you can buy today. It never had any oomph factor and was happy being in its comfort zone as a work truck. It has remained pretty much the same for 15 years and Nissan never bothered to bring in a new generation because, well, why fix something that ain’t broken?

Given the long wait, everyone expected the next-gen Frontier to get a complete makeover inside out. The Japanese automaker still hasn’t brought out the new generation, but it decided to give us a glimpse of the future by plonking in a new engine and transmission in the same old body.

The new engine and gearbox come at a cost; the cost being $8,000. The starting price of the truck has gone up considerably and a lot of us were confused if it’s worth the hike or not. Here's Why the Ferrari F50 Is Better Than the F40

Here’s Why the Ferrari F50 Is Better Than the F40

This video proves that the Ferrari F50 doesn’t get the attention it deserves

The F50 is one of the greatest Ferraris ever built. Loved by purists for its naturally aspirated V-12 engine and F1-inspired technology, the F50 is already a full-fledged classic, despite being only 25 years old as of 2020. But the F50 has also been overshadowed by the F40, its spiritual predecessor. Tiff Needell thinks that is unfair and took a red F50 for a spin on the Scottish highlands to prove his point.

Is This REALLY The Fastest Nissan 350Z On The Planet?

Hard to tell, but it’s definitely one of the best-sounding 350Zs out there

We’ve seen our fair share of tuned Nissan 350Z over the sports car’s long career. Some are good examples of what a tweaked Z should be while other are festivals of tasteless work. Mountainpass Performance’s 350Z falls in the first category. Even more, it’s built with racing in mind (not street racing, though) and it even packs an electric motor.
